Car Accident

Postby cuzn on Tue Sep 01, 2009 2:12 pm

So, I was driving down the highway when my driver's side front tire just blew off and kept rolling down the road without me.

Damage done:
Completely ripped out two studs
Lost all 5 Lug Nuts
Z-3 Fender is completely cracked in the middle and it snapped off above the bottom bolts
Lost the cover to the Clear Corner Lense (that is no longer made, so I have to order 2 new ones)

Improvements:
New Z-3 Fenders arrived today, hopefully will get them on in a day or two
Put on new Drilled/Slotted Rotors

To do list:
Repair the rust on my driver's side quarter panel (estimated $400, to cut it out and weld a new piece in)
Put on the Body Kit
Paint the car

I have enough to keep me busy for right now. What is everyone else up to?

So much for getting the car fixed. I was coming home and they car in front of me slammed on his brakes and so did I and well I ended up rear ending him. So, I will get an estimate here in a day or two and see if I can get it fixed pretty cheap or if I am going to have to get another car. If it is not worth fixing up then I will have some car parts for sale.

Wow, not your day!

Too bad you don't have any photos of the accident. But if you see it in a positive way, a new car might come out of this.

Looking under the hood, looks like I will need a new radiator, head lights, corner lights, and hood. The rest of the damage is minor and I need the pull the frame forward just a little bit.

I haven't seen any action on here in awhile. I got the clear corners, chrome/blue projector head lights, cheap $75 hood from you local junk yard. I am still in need of a radiator and I need to get a new vent for my A/C. Other than that the only thing left to fix is the radiator support that got bent a bit.

Yeah, it is hard to get people back on here. I haven't been active on here due to work but now that I am settled in my new house and almost done unpacking I will have more time to get on here. The weather stopped the repairs to the car but it is almost running again. I am really hoping to get the car up and running before summer. I found a place up here in Virginia where I can get the car painted.

Quick Update. The car is now running but not fully put back together yet. I haven't been able to do a whole lot. Been going through a rough time at work. But that is now over and I am looking forward to getting more work done on the car now. The stickers I have are the ones that I ordered when it was IndependantRacing.

Alright, the car is fully put together. There are still a few problems but it runs and can get me around. The passenger side headlight and side marker have a gap inbetween them but they do work. When I ordered new fenders that one was messed up but due to me moving I did not notice it until a few months ago. Just put the old one back on for now. It has a chip near the bumper. The car definitely could use some professional work but like I said I can drive it around now. I will try to get some pictures this weekend.
